Triple Lakes is located about 30 km south of Timmins. It is accessed by following Pine St. South which becomes the Papakomeka Road. Follow the road for 30 km passing turnoffs to Papakomeka Lake and Peterlong Lake. Keep going until you come to a bridge over the Mountjoy River at Marceau Lake. You will see a sign indicating Marceau Lake on the far side of the bridge and a turnoff for McArthur Lake.

Park your vehicle near the bridge and put your canoe or kayak in the water. There is no boat launch but the trip down to the water is not difficult. Follow the river downstream into the first of the Triple Lakes. As the name suggests, there are three lakes. On the east shore of the first lake there was a little known mine that followed a quartz vein up from the water's edge. It was probably more famous as a highgrading operation than a big producer of gold although some gold was there. The mine was called the Triple Lakes Mine.

At the bottom end of the three lakes is a portage route that takes you past an impressive chute or column of fast moving water which empties into a pool at the bottom.
