Wealthy Lakes (Meadow Lake)

These lakes are often overlooked or not known by people in Timmins. They are located fairly close to town, and it is not uncommon to see young people biking down Pine Street South with fishing rods on their bikes heading for these lakes. There is a spot near the road where people frequently camp.

The lakes are easily accessed by car as the boat launching is right beside the road. It would be quite possible to drive from downtown Timmins a distance of about 7 km., and have your canoe in the water of a quiet lake with no one else around. Allow about two hours to explore the three lakes and if you are open to a challenge, it is possible to fight your way through bulrushes to reach a fourth lake which can be seen on the map as emptying into the second lake from the parking area.
