Work is currently in progress on the Bridge-to-Bridge Trail. Some parts are not complete at this time but the trail is quite pleasant to ride or walk on. The ideal place to begin the trip is at the Mattagami Park.

Follow Algonquin Blvd. about four kilometres west of the Tourist Information Centre in Schumacher. Immediately after crossing the Mattagami River make a right turn into the Mattagami Park parking lot. Leave your vehicle there and walk north on the path through the park past the baseball diamond and follow Craig St. to Norman.

The route along Norman follows a sidewalk for a while on the west side. Eventually there will be a detour around this section but for now you must walk on the side of the road. Look for the beginning of the walking trail opposite Cedar Meadows Resort. This now turns away from the road and follows the river for a pleasant walk of about 800 metres. When you see the bridge, take the trail to the left and follow it up and across the bridge.

On the east side of the river, the trail follows Airport Road for about two long blocks and turns back to the river just past River Park Road. At this point it follows a path behind the Sewage Treatment Plant to emerge on McChesney Road. Follow the trail up from the river to go behind Timmins High and vocational School as well as Ecole Secondaire Theriault emerging on Vimy Ave. The last part of the trail follows Gillies Street to emerge on Algonquin Blvd. and over the bridge to the starting point at Mattagami Park.

The trail should take between and hour and an hour and a half to complete.
