This trip can be done at any time outside of the ski season.
The trip out to Kamiskotia Mountain is about 23 km. from Schumacher. Follow Highway 101 west through Timmins and on out past the Timmins Square. The turnoff to Kamiskotia is 11.2 km west of Schumacher. It is well signed and is called Highway 576. The turnoff to Kamiskotia is about 12 km down this road. It is a short drive up to the ski club where there is a large parking lot.
There is a nice walk following the base of the mountain going in front of the main lodge and down past the beginning of the ski tow. Look for a road that will take you around the base to a lookout about 200 m from the lodge. There is a steep ski run called the Eagles that runs down to this road. Turn back here and walk back to Jules, one run past the Eagles, a more modestly sloped hill, and climb to the top.
At the top, look for the town of Timmins 10 km west of the hill and the Kidd Creek Minesite, farther to the northwest.
Cross the top of the mountain and descend the Kreiner ski-run named after a famous Timmins family that put the ski hill on the map when Kathy Kreiner won a gold medal in Olympic skiing at Innsbruck in 1976.
