This could be a walking or biking excursion.

For a short walk, park your car at the start of the walking trail on Lefebvre Road as indicated above.

For a 13 km biking trip (adjustable - depending where you park on Kraft Creek Road) park your vehicle at the beginning of Kraft Creek Road and bike down the road to Lefebvre Road (about 4 km). Make a left turn and proceed down Lefebvre to the point where it makes a sharp right turn (about one km). Either park your bike here or take it with you as you follow the trail that will become apparent immediately on the left side of the road. By following the trail you will be able to walk down to the river which is rather steep but not hard to do. In the spring the water is pouring over the dam and the waterfall is quite spectacular. In the summer most of the water goes through the powerhouse where it generates electricity.

Further exploration of the area can be done by biking down to the boat launching area a little further down the road as indicated on the above map.

Sandy Falls Generating Station was built in 1911 when power was needed for the mines which began operating at that time.
