The trailhead is located at the north end of Legion Drive in South Porcupine. Walkers can park their cars here and follow the trail as it enters a spruce/pine forest wandering north and east through a quiet well marked trail. Evidence of trail users is found in the many bird feeding stations along the route. Of geological interest is the rock on the north side of the trail. A short distance off the trail, you will find exposed evidence of early forces which shaped the landscape and produced the gold bearing rock which is beneath your feet.
Coming out on the Davidson Road, turn left and proceed approximately 500 meters north to where the trail continues. Look for a post on the right side of the road and re-enter the bush to travel east, eventually coming out in Porcupine behind the Government Complex. The return trip can be made using residential roadways or connecting to the south loop of the Bart Thompson trail which winds around Porcupine Lake.
