Kettle Lakes is located about 37km east of Timmins. It is accessed by driving east from the Schumacher Information Centre about 34 km and turning north on highway 67 that leads to Barber's Bay and Iroquois Falls. The park entrance is about 3 km along this road.

The park is open year round. An ideal time for a bike ride is in the fall when the trees are turning colour, but any time of the year is great. Stops can be made at various point such as Slab Lake for lunch at the picnic shelter or Point Lake just to enjoy the view.

The route is mainly through jack pine forest with stretches of poplar and birch trees. The trail is fairly flat with some gentle hills along the way. The outer loop takes the rider through camp grounds called Bullfrog, The Pines and Island Lake. Side trips can be made through the campground roads. Island Lake Campground is a beautiful area with an excellent swimming beach.
