This bike trip takes you to Sandy Falls on the north side of the Mattagami River which offers a rather unique view of the rapids. It is best visited in the spring when the river is high and water is spilling over the dam.
Although you can drive very close to the falls, you can enjoy a bike ride right from the beginning of Kraft Creek Road where you can park your car and then bike about 4 km down the road turning left on Lefebvre Road. About 1.5 km along the road you make a turn to the right. Park your bike at the turn and take the trail that heads south down to the river.
Later you can continue on down Lefebvre Road to the boat launch which is about 1 km from the right turn in the road. The return trip takes you back up Lefebvre Road and back down Kraft Creek Road to your car.
